I was beginning to think I was the only person in the entire universe who thought Mark Sheppard was a liability to any show. What do I know though? He does, as you say keep, getting jobs.

"Out of Gas" is my favourite episode of Firefly. In no particular order, I also like "Our Mrs Reynolds", "Trash", "Ariel" and "Objects in Space".

If you think Mark Shepperd is consistently bad, then don't watch him as the incompetent bank robber on "Burn Notice" or the incompentent insurance investigator on "Leverage" (don't know if you get those shows in the UK). I swear, in ONE week, he was on all three shows. At least he's working... I had issues with this episode, too, but I just keep telling myself, "it's Joss, hang in there, it's Joss." I really don't care for this "personality of the week" thing that's going on right now. I think the Dollhouse set is ridiculous - the big communal shower, dolls sleeping sealed into sunken bunks in the floor? Bwa ha ha!! I guess I'll hang in there at least through Episode 6, where Whedon's magic is supposed to kick in... I can't wait for Echo to get her free will back.
