Well, it could be Joss Whedon who created it and wrote the majority of my favourite episodes.

Or it could be because it was funny, serious, silly, sexy, annoying, clever, frivolous, exciting, thoughtful, thought provoking and other such things.

It could be because the cast was great most especially Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Or it could be because of Buffy, Joyce, Cordelia, Willow, Amy, Harmony, Jenny, Kendra, Drusilla, Faith, Anya, Maggie Walsh, Halfrek, Tara, Dawn, Glory, Kennedy, and many more. A host of varied and interesting women, that's what made Buffy the Vampire Slayer so great.

I know that I am Ms over-sensitive at times but the use of the word hate when dislike is the word required bugs me. The overuse of misogyny when sexism would be a good enough word is also galling because it robs the m word of its true meaning and power.

Anyway, back to my list of Buffy episodes and I'll look for a top twenty episode because I can't imagine not liking anything from the top ten. Stop. I'm going to cheat myself and go for a top thirty episode because I have just spied "The Prom" at #25. (I'm almost tempted to go for #33 because that's "Amends" and that's pretty close to matching "The Prom").

This is all a bit stream of consciousness and since I have just read my old comments about these episodes I'm going to call it a tie.

This is barmy. There are hundreds of great Scooby moments. Even if you pare it down to the core four that is a lot of moments.

However, the scene in “Doppelgangland” comes to mind when the others think Willow has been turned into a vampire and she turns up is very funny. And Andy is right: “Hush” is also fab.

The scene in Sunnydale High School before the final battle as all four talk and depart is a great moment.

Buffy is stuffed with sayings. It is a quote monster.

The first one I thought of is “note to self: religion freaky” which I certainly agree with as a sentiment.

Then there is “Oh, poor Watcher. Did your life pass before your eyes? Cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got shagged, cup of tea?” and from the same episode “That’ll put marzipan in your pie plate, Bingo!” and “”You know, if we want her to be exactly, she’ll never be exactly, the only really real Buffy is really Buffy, and she’s gone” who?”.

Talking of Buffybot, here’s a puzzled Buffy: “The who-whatting-how-with-huh?”

More Buffy: “I think I speak for everyone here when I say, huh?”

A bit of Cordelia wisdom: “Tact is just not saying true stuff.”

Naturally there is “I’m so evil, and skanky… and I think I’m kinda gay.” and following from that: “can we just skip it? can you… can you just be kissing me now?”

Some Joan: “I think I know why Joan’s the boss. I’m like a superhero or something.”

This is why I love Buffy: all these riches and I still haven’t decided.

Try “I didn’t jump. I took a tiny step, and there conclusions were.” or “It’s entirely pointy!” or “Oh my God. I’m cured! I want the boys!” or “Anchovies, anchovies, you’re so delicious. I love you more than all the other fishes.”

Do I have to chose? OK, it’s twenty to one and I promised myself an early night so on the 30th July at 00:41, my favourite Buffyverse saying is “The girl’s not playing with a full deck, Giles. She has almost no deck. She has a three.”

This I will find simultaneously both harder and easier than Day 20's Spike question. Easier because it's straightforward for me to conjure up Willow episodes I particularly like and harder because I have to chose one.

It's not that hard actually but I'll get to that.

It could be "I, Robot…You, Jane" because she was funny when she was angry and except for the laughable computery stuff it wasn't that bad an episode.

It could be one of the episodes where her partner is as important to the story as she is such as 'Wild at Heart", "New Moon Rising", and "Tough Love". It could be a pissed off Willow episode like "Something Blue" except for me it's Buffy and Spike that make that episode outstanding.

As you know Crack Willow doesn't do anything for me so I can't even consider any episodes from S6 but I do like "Same Time, Same Place" from S7.

It's obvious what's missing and it's one of my favourite episodes of the entire show and it's the one where Alyson Hannigan is awesome: "Doppelgangland".
