How to fold scarves

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Google Analytics has revealed that my site is very popular for people looking for information on folding scarves (in fact it’s number four for the search: “how to fold scarves”). They must be mighty disappointed to find this place then!

So here’s some links:

Xena is no longer

Friday, September 15th, 2006

Xena and Gabrielle
Sad news: the dwarf planet nicknamed Xena has officially been called Eris which is fair enough because it continues the gods and goddesses theme of all the planets (except ours) but where’s the fun in that?

At least Buffy is still hanging in there.

What a cat

A cat of many talents: particularly good are fetish, stealth and thief.

StumbleUpon

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

I stumbledupon StumbleUpon because the BBC News website was reviewing Time’s fifty something or another websites and a reader’s comment said you have to try SU: it is wonderful (and an awesome timewaster!).

Without it

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

I love the Internet which I suppose is as inane as saying I love books but plenty of people do say they hate or distrust the Internet so snap.

Anyway, two things I have discovered lately which I owe to the ‘net. One is that the stretch marks I have on my stomach were the result of simply being pregnant and normal and not the result of being inadequate, fat and old. Secondly, the film “diary” I kept when I was teenager was not unusual or strange or sad or silly but something people who love films and in particular, the films bought by Leslie Halliwell for Channel 4 did.

What’s in a name?

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

Quite a lot really, so why Audrey?

There are several possibilities: number one is a love of Audrey Hepburn, or since they are young things, Audrey Tautou. Maybe they have been watching too much British TV and have a thing for Audrey from Corrie or more understandably Audrey fforbes-Hamilton. Or maybe, Audrey Flack (I cheated/googled on that one) but looking at her work, perhaps not. Or Audrey Niffenegger but I hope not because I thought The Time Traveller’s Wife was dreadful.

Or maybe, just maybe, someone Swedish, or maybe it was just a name they liked.

Thanks to Inky Circus, I have discovered the joy of Georgemas, AMA Computer University and a list of Assyrians.

Just click on “Random article” from the left-hand naviagation.

I can’t be asked to do that

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

There are some absolute corkers of “phonetic near-misses” here. One of my favourites in fan fiction is peeked or peaked for piqued: it crops up all the time and I cheer when it is spelled correctly.

Get an Andy!

Get Firefox!

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

I’ve just discovered that my blog looks dreadful in Internet Explorer. Get Firefox and it’ll look gorgeous (ok, normal) but in the meantime Andy (his family’s computer support) is trying to fix it.
