Bright Star

I liked the look, the performances and many moments of Bright Star but overall it was all rather (and not surprisingly) predictable.

I did discover a major new star who was only 17 at the time of filming: Topper the cat!

He was such a scene stealer and clearly dearly loved by Ben Whishaw and Abbie Cornish. Topper's finest moment was trying to catch a butterfly only for Abbie Cornish to stop him ("No, Topper!") and for Kerry Fox to hold onto him while they carried on acting a fabulous scene. The only thing that gave them away was Cornish's Australian accent slipping through in her pronunciation of Topper.
